The Eternal Family

"The family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children... IN THE PREMORTAL REALM, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshiped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life" (Th Family a Proclamation to The World).

I am so grateful that we have eternal families. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we believe in the plan of happiness. This is the plan that Heavenly Father set forth for His children to return to live with Him again. Families have been around since the beginning. We all existed first as spirit sons or daughters to Heavenly parents. 

I know that I can live with my family again. I know that because of the atonement of Jesus Christ I can be forgiven and made clean to enter into the presence of God. President Henry B. Eyring stated,

"Eternal life means to become like the Father and to live in families in happiness and joy forever" 

It truly brings so much joy into my life to know that my family will be with me forever. They have been with me through everything in this life, so why wouldn't I want them to be with me through everything in the life to come. 

In the primary song "Families Can Be Together Forever" it says 

"Families can be together forever, through Heavenly Fathers plan. I always want to be with my own family and the lord has shown me how I can"


I am so blessed to have a loving father in Heaven who has led the way so that I can live with my family forever. I know that through obedience and faith in Him that I will receive all the blessings He has in store for me.

As husbands and wives it is important for us to come together when it comes to making decisions. We may all come from different opinions and backgrounds but, that doesn't change the fact that a husband and wife should look to each other when it comes to making decisions.  I think this goes back to picking a spouse that has similar goals and opinions as you in the fir st place. It is so important for us to be equally yoked with our spouse and that stems from being one in purpose and having the same goals. Along with that we need to set these goals early on in marriage so that when the time comes to make decisions we already know how we are going to handle the situation. Although we all come from different backgrounds and opinions it is essential for husbands and wives to understand their roles and unity in marriage. We are meant to be equal partners. I think when a couple understand this they are able to come together and function the way God intended for a marriage to be.

Fertility Patterns

It is God's commandment to multiply and replenish the earth. Yet there are so many people who struggle to have families and suffer from infertility and perinatal loss. Infertility and perinatal loss is one of those things that people don’t really talk about. These are things that many people experience yet, no one knows people are going through it. In the article titled "Coping with Grief in Perinatal Loss" it says,  “Perinatal death is tragic, but there are many ways of coping. There is no one method that is perfect for everyone. Your bereavement process can be as unique as you are. We hope that you will be able to find a source of comfort and healing that works best for you, and that someday you will be able to face the future with peace and hope.” I have experienced this in my own life. Covenant Marriage

I love my family and want to be with them, not only for the rest of this life, but forever. This is why I have chosen to be married in the house of The Lord. The temple has given each and every one of us the opportunity to make it possible for us to be with our families forever. "The temple is an ever present reminder that God intends the family to be eternal" (Ezra Taft Benson). I love that I can be sealed to my husband and that our children will be sealed to us. God intended for families to be forever that's why he gave us the temple so that we can enter into those covenants.
